THE WORLD BY THUMB
100% hitchhiking - 100% world tour - Since 2013 - By Florence Renault
ASIA
2017-2019
We hitchhiked three planes and three ferries to cross from Australia to the Asian continent. Because of the short visas duration, we had to race against time and jumped from islands to islands, from East Timor through Indonesia to Singapore in September 2017. We kept hitchhiking to Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar. The original plan was to travel India but the border was closed so we came back to Thailand and continued to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. I pursued alone my hitchhiking world tour to northern Vietnam and China for three months. I met my boyfriend Sebastian for a few weeks in Japan in June 2018. Then I hitchhiked four months along the Silk Road, with my brother and alone, from China to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Turkey. Sebastian joined me again and we hitchhiked a ferry to the island of Cyprus where we stayed stuck all the winter. We finally managed to hitchhike a plane to Israel. Then we visited Palestine and Jordan, before reaching Africa in May 2019. In resume I spent almost two years in South-East, Eastern, Central and Middle East Asia.
