KYRGYZSTAN
from September, 2nd to 30th, 2018
Kyrgyzstan is a mix of Russia and Mongolia with a hint of Turkey. After China and Kazakhstan, it is my third country on the Silk Road. I just arrived there when the Nomadic World Games began in the steppes. A breath-taking three days hike took me to Ala-Kul pass, and then another three days hike took me to Kyol-Ukok Lake. I slep in a huts, in yurts or in my tent in the cold of the beginning of Kyrgyz winter. I spent ten days in Bishkek to make my visa applications in embassies for the following countries of my hitchhiking world tour(Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran) and to recover from food poisoning with kurut (a ball of raw cheese made from sheep's milk). As the nomads of the mountains folded their yurts to spend the summer in the valley, I reached the plains of Uzbekistan .
