ZIMBABWE

From November 3rd to 5th 2019

It was only a quick trip to Zimbabwe to see the famous Victoria Falls. They are the largest in the world with those of Niagara and Iguacu. Since it was the (abnormally) dry season, the falls on the Zambian side were dried up. That's why we decided to visit the Zimbabwean side where there was still water. Nothing like the great wall of water after the rainy season, but it was very pretty anyway! It was a special day of my hitchhiking world tour because I went to three countries in a few hours: I woke up in Zambia , I visited the falls in Zimbabwe then I fell asleep in Botswana .

Le pont de la frontière entre la Zambie et le Zimbabwe est à peine contrôlé. Beaucoup de touristes viennent y prendre des photos sans visa. Si j'avais su, j'aurais tenté de visiter les chutes du Zimbabwe sans payer 30 dollars de visa puis je serais revenue en Zambie.

The bridge of the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe is not really controled. Many tourists just come to take pictures without visa. If I knew it, I would have just tried to cross the border to Zimbabwe without paying a 30 dollars visa to visit the Falls and then I would have come back to Zambia.

Il nous a fallu 2heures pour parcourir lentement le sentier le long de chutes zimababwéenne.

It took us 2 hours to walk slowly along the path of the Zimbabwean falls.

Même en saison (très) sèche, il reste un peu d'eau dans les Chutes et c'est superbe.

Even during the (very) dry season, there is still water in the falls and it is beautiful

Cette partie des chutes à proximité de la Zambie est totalement asséchée, tout comme la partie Zambienne que nous n'avons pas visité.

This part of the waterfalls near Zambia is totally dry, as much as the Zambian side that we did not visit.
