Travel Story
Since we got the "East Africa Visa" including Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, we decide to continue my hitchhiking world tour in Uganda. The south of the country is similar to southern Kenya: very green, hilly and many lakes.
I discover Sipi waterfalls, Lake Victoria (the biggest lake of Africa but also one of the sources of the Nile), the hot springs of Kasese, the lake Bunyonyi ... We don't have enough budget for the National Parks but we see a lot of wildlife along the roads and near the village of Katwe.
Uganda is similar with Kenya but it is poorer and less modern (broken roads, many orphanages etc).
While Kenyans often had interesting conversations and a lot of knowledges, the Ugandans I meet often struggle with simple mental calculations or basic hygiene measures. Once again, the concept of free hitchhiking does not exist in this African country but we still manage to move ahead thanks to the trucks but especially thanks to the rare jeeps. The detour to Uganda really worthed it!
